There was around 11,000 bhp there this year. We intend to whip that to a pulp next year !! We maybe looking into plasma screen shows, etc.

Graham would like to have any other positive feed back on how we can improve on this for next year. More rev ups, etc? Be creative as we should have time and resource for this event.

Happy motoring !!!

I think we could do with a period to warm the cars up before revving for the masses.

Grant and I started up at 2.55pm - i.e. 5 mins warm up before the 3pm mass start up. Before we knew it everyone else was starting up and the girl with the hooter blew it straight away - so no warm up time!

Other ideas - a scalectrix? there must be a lot of club members with kids (or big kids) who could combine lots of track for a big circuit for punters to have a go on.

Some small scale catering? Drinks or a BBQ? If only just for the members?

Obvioiusly we'll need to hang the Union Jack thr wrong way round again just to nark the Jag lot!

LB (regressed back to a teenager for this post) Feel free to chastise me for being so childish, esp. Rivergirrl.

Seriously, had a great day, plenty sunburn, loved the pics. Suggestions for video displays make good sense, TVRs look best when they're moving IMO!

'We maybe looking into plasma screen shows, etc.'

I can supply plasmas for sale or hire - e-mail me for details.

Far cop. 5 mins is no good. Probably get a countdown timer with hours and seconds on it so we and the public know what is going on. Would pull the crowd in for the event.

I like the scalectrix idea. You can get the Speed 12 can’t you? We had an idea like that at a previous event where we had the XBox playing Project Gotham Racing with the cheat to drive Tuscans. Microsoft is in Reading, I will recommend both of these ideas. Nice one.

Yer, it would be nice to skip the waiting for the burgers and get our own BBQ up and running. I was involved in the Team Lexus Japanese show (no I don’t have a Lexus, just dragged into it) where that went down well. They had tables and things there – but is wasn’t anything like our stand (and it was backed by Lexus !!)

Graham intends further talks with the TVR factory next year as it seriously promotes them. They helped this year with the flags, posters, etc. All positive reports will help Graham convince them of the event’s professionalism and marketing opportunities for them.

Ta ‘Simpo one’ for the plasma lead. I also have contacts at B&O plus we have a very good contact producing Car show events – hence the massive 16 foot ‘Jurassic Park’ entrance we had this year. I will pass all leads and suggestions on to Graham. Thanks for your enthusiasm guys.

Being a future TVR owner, I was very impressed by the stand, I blagged a couple of Tuscan posters ( now on garage wall ). I would just like to thank the owner of the metallic raspberry Chim who were only too happy to talk about his car and passed me a few pearls of wisdom.
Well done to all involved

Steve,

I thought it was an excellent day, the surprise from the organisers when they found out it was our first attempt proved how right Graham and the rest of the team got it.

A larger video screen would work well and inhouse catering for the club members - the queue was too long for the food in the main area, I didn't bother waiting.

Cheers,
John.

Don't forget to add the four Cerbies to the list of those taking part! I know tvr themselves don't like to admit it exists anymore, but let's not start on PH!

Oh, and there was a perfectly good supply of pies in one of the large white tents just by the main arena. Maybe your pie radar wasn't firing on all cylinders?

Good day out, though. Congrats to all who helped organise it and those who just turned-up.

Luca, a single-handed smack up the sunburned head will get you queuing up for next year's show :sunburnedsmiley:

JSG - that was the best comment of the day

Damn, sorry to leave the Cerbies off the list, it was a bit late when I typed it up - I did take a photo though but its not on the report.

Missed the pies - I only found cakes, tea and beer in the tents.

Cheers,
JSG.

There was a fair amount of merriment in the tool tent, particlularly regarding 'Village People'-style tool pouches, stupidly over-sized pliers in various shapes and giant spanners. Unfortunately I can't remember the specific comments....probably aren't funny now anyway.

There was one earlier from Riverrgirl about applying 'Wet and Black'....

and not forgetting the immortal...'They all do that, sir', which became the most popular phrase of the day!

John - how could you possibly miss the burger stand which was immediately behind where we had that beer?

And lets face it, you didn't need much convincing to come and have a beer, did you?!
