I am not sure how to best phrase this but I am sure there will have been a few on here who may have experience that can help.

I am 48 years old. After years of working, commuting and earning a very good salary (financial markets stuff - content, media, PR) I decided a few years ago that I had had enough so resigned. I had a few months off then started doing some freelance work. Over the last couple of years this has built up and now have a few regular clients and good income (much less than before but happy enough and don't have to work five days a week).

Now I am happy to carry on with this but part of me misses working in a "proper" business. The work I do is regular, almost piece work I suppose where I am not seeing a project through over many months so can be a little dull. The grass is always greener and all that.

This is very early stages for me and I do not really want to go back to the exact same industry I was in before. My skill set is sales/PR/ financial market knowledge. Where do I start when it comes to thinking where I might want to get involved - and who might actually look at me? A business coach? A recruitment company? I would really like to be involved in a smaller start up than a big corporate monolith. Any advice gratefully received, as are stories of your own experiences.
