Leven Hood Cover
Discussion
Am thinking about getting a hood cover for my S2, has anyone got one of these from Leven? They seem a good idea ie. out on a nice sunny day parked up and suddenly the heavens open (of course this doesn't happen in England
)
It's a pain to put the panels on each time...especially if you have left them back home in the garage! although at £150 the hood cover is a bit pricey. Anyone seen any alternatives?

I'm not sure if anyone took a pic at last years Heaven....
But when the heavens open, I use my large BRG beach towel for protecting the rear screen to lay over the hole left by roof removal..
Open doors, shut towel in both doors - drape over both front and rear screen... Takes 10 seconds Hey Presto...
Only good for a light shower mind , but does the trick.

I was using one for a while, like Pies, my car lives outside 24/7 - but then in some high winds in January, I found that the edges of the hood had moved just enough (about a cm) to scratch the back edge of the bonnet and the front edge of the boot, really badly. Haven't got around to polishing it out yet, weather hasn't been nice enough.
Mine is now relegated to emergency use only...

I found there was a knack to getting it 100% so that there was no rub.... same on the Chimaera one that I now have
I found out that it you didn't have it lined up correctly then you do risk issues in high winds. Still the best option on the market IMHO.. and as I say once you've got the "knack" I've had no problems.

Not sure what this is.... But if you want a plastic mac for the car, then Halfords are doing some car covers for about £20 - buy the smallest size.
Ok guys more stupid questions from Canada. I made Roof Panel bags last year and I have enough material to make a roof cover. I would use it for parking at the golf course just to keep the dust out and the chance of rain. The rest of the time I’m fortunate enough to have a garage.
So how do they fasten to the car? Where do they fasten? Last and not least dose anybody have a ripped, old one they are discarding that I could use for a template? I will pay for the postage over.
Cheers

In my view putting the Leven cover on is much more longwinded than putting the roof panels on. Particularly if you faff about tucking the flaps into the boot and bonnet. Mine never got used much as I kept the car in a garage overnight.
The only point I could see to it was if the car wasn't used very much and was kept outside. Very well made though.

Just takes a bit of practice... can fit mine on my own in under a minute, no problem... takes about 30 seconds if you have someone to help.

Hi Dave , they are tailored to fit over the front screen and targa panel with flaps that tuck into the boot lid and bonnet but the main fix is to the wing mirrors, the material is tailored to fit round them and then secured with a clip. Works a treat !
