The transition from a Safeways to a Morrisons

Been doing the weekly shop at our local Safeway since 1996, for no other reason than it was the nearest, I have no particular loyalty. Now it is a Morrisons it is crap, we now go to the Tescos at Alfreton 12 miles away in the next town.
Heard on the business news that since Morrisons took over Safeways, customers have deserted the stores in droves and Morrisons are having a tough time of it, shares warning etc. Good it serves 'em right ruining a perfectly good supermarket chain, you are supposed to make things better or at least maintain standards when you are in business, not drag it all down.

The local one has filled the aisles with huge pallets full of special offers and you can barely get a trolley down either side, causes more congestion than the J11 of the M1 at 8am on a weekday. They'll probably say it's about lack of space but they took the top shelves off all the shelf rows when they took over, if they had kept them they'd have the stock space. Unless people are shorter up north and they have a set shelf height for all stores.
And their layout baffle everyone, who else seperates food products with DVD's and hardware.

Our local one has two pallets full of BOGOF Tunafish right where the queue for the fags counter used to go. I hated safeways when it was still safeway. Sainsburys or Waitrose. Asda is too big and i can't find anything, and tesco is the only place someone's tried to steal my car when they know i'm still watching them.

Don't go there much as there is a Sainsburys close to me but at least the Morrisons bags are much better than the Safeway ones, also the bread in Safeway/Morrisons pi55es all over Sainsburys.
Reading between the lines, are you saying that it's Safe for Jim Morrison to p155 all over the bread in Sainsbury's?
On the bright side, I can confirm that after several months of detailed research, I find that the quality of the fry up served in the Pikeysons cafe is vastly superior to that of the previous Safeway incarnation.

Anecdotal but from a reliable inside trade source:-
Morrisons buy the stuff that Tescbury's etc won't touch for reasons of quality. Shop there and to be honest it shows.
Caveats re manufacturer's branded goods obviously. Heinz beans are Heinz beans are Heinz beans.
Mind you our Tesco's has just opened a pie counter...
