Just wondering if MSN is broken for everyone or just me?!

Been trying to get on for half an hour with no luck, even restarted my laptop and tried on the other PC.
Service status had perviously said everything was running but now when I try and bring it up it cant be found!

On for me at the moment, I don't know if this will work, but when it's down you could try http://webmessenger.msn.com/ it's the online messenger so you don't have to install messenger on the computer.

I'm running the 7.0 beta version and while everyone else in the office is having problems, mine is fine.

That MSN virius that was doing the rounds has screwed things up so it seems...

Worth updating to see if it helps.

Ahhh - but when I tried MSN 7 I kept getting disconnected.

I went back to msn 6.2 or something and everything was hunkydorey

I recently stopped using the MSN client after I found the ads were calling home and tracking my movements around the internet.

There are a couple of alternatives, Trillian and Gaim to name but two, I use Trillian nowadays and it's fairly good

I dont like msn much either. IRC IMHO is the way to go for chat clients.

and msn seems to be working fine currently and has all day.

it's the ads that are, I only found out when I blocked IE from accessing the net using my software firewall and it would try and connect everytime a Norwich Union ad was shown. It was connecting to a website which upon searching google is known for causing problems in AOL and such.

Apparently what it does is report back to the company every site you visit that is displaying it's ads and therefore can see your movements about the 'net.

Suffice to say I aint happy having that done so stopped using MSN.

I use Trillian, not that I have much against MSN, it's just lots of my contacts seem to think it's a good ideato call themselves 'Erish - Protector of all that is good, blahdy blah blah, etc.' which is a real pain when trying to follow what they're saying. In Trillian you can rename your contacts and give them real names like 'Ben'.

Trillian is brilliant. I have contacts who use ICQ, MSN and Yahoo. Having one app that lets me be available on all 3 networks is brilliant.
