I am looking at fitting a DAB radio to my wedge, they reckon you can only fit the antenna onto something metal like the windscreen surround on normal cars, is the surround on the wedge fibre glass or metal and if it is fibre glass where can I fit the antenna now ??? any help most appreciated.

I have used one similar to this in the tuscan

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alpine-DAB-Replacement-W...

Works a treat using it on a pioneer dab headunit, doesn't need any other connections or earth's. Just the dab aerial connector on the headunit, the headunit can power the aerial.

You have a couple of choices, you can use a glass mounted antenna and there are a few available, alternatively there are some glass mounted which require a ground plane.

Also there are a number of DAB radio options if you follow the link www.autodab.com or connects2.com - SmartDAB is particularly as are the AutoDAB FM units and also simple to install, i have one running through my Sony radio in my TVR using a simple glass mount antenna and is pretty good.

Come on Adam, keep up, it's the thing that makes musicy noises for when your working on the car.

Had my red 'wedge' for 3 years now, radio hasn't been on with turning wheels yet, much prefer the 8 piece symphony!

Chris.

Ok that would work except I don't do that cos it will run the battery down.... plus get (more) oily fingerprints inside the cabin.
