Sacked - next steps?

Young lad at golf club has been sacked - don't know the 'ins and outs'. Has two young kids and wife whose working part-time, usual mortgage and stuff so his finances are going to be a disaster - at least short term.

I don't think he can claim benefits but anybody with experience/knowledge in this area can give heads-up or advice?

He should be able to get jobseekers allowance.

Should be able to get job seekers, housing benefits (afaik its ok if you have a mortgage although it won't fully cover) and get out of paying council tax.

How long was the person employed by the club? Have you even a vague idea of the reason for dismissal?

Does this thread really belong on the "What has your friend been up to?" thread?

As he has been sacked he can claim benefits.

JSA
HB will only contribute to the interest of his mortgage
Tax credits as he has children
