2012 Exeo 143 TDi... Dieselgate recall done... Revo or not?
Discussion
New to me; 57k... all seems fine but does seem to try to regen the DPF more than I expected (no lights yet - it gets good runs but often has higher idle and fans running on key off).
Like the idea of more torque and, if the regen was tamed a bit, the Revo route would be attractive....

If the car is a keeper you could consider a dpf delete the same time as the remap, no more problems then apart from people moaning you shouldn't do it!
All very well until you take it for an MOT and it fails.
It wont. And there are no upcoming changes coming that will change that in the forseeable future.

If the MOT garage dont bother looking then that is a different matter....
My mate had a DPF delete on his 170CR octavia and it failed the MOT because the DPF was not present.

Take it off, cut a whole in the top, gut out the DPF, put it back on, then code out the light. Job done.
If the DPF box is present, and not showing any signs of being tampered with (ie, the box was cut open on the top side) then thats as much as they can test for the presence of the DPF.

Then your mate did it wrong - ANYONE who knows anything about a DPF delete knows you DONT REMOVE THE BOX.

I was one of the first to have a DPF delete done on my old PD170 Leon in 2008 and we just fitted a DPF delete pipe, If I was doing a DPF delete these days I would gut it like most people do now.Take it off, cut a whole in the top, gut out the DPF, put it back on, then code out the light. Job done.

My old MK2 Golf TDI (MK3 Golf engine) has no cat and flies through every year. Might have something to do with it being an engine conversion though.
