I'll start by making it clear that I will make my own decision, but I'm still interested in input from others.

Here's your choice:

Bremont Supermarine S500
Breitling Superocean Heritage

Which one, and why?

People are no doubt going to warn you of the potential depreciation of both but that aside I quite like the look of the new S301 Supermarine if you havn`t seen one yet!

It doesn't really appeal to me. It's not like I want something busy (I generally don't like complications, for example), but the S301's face just looks a bit empty.

Got it!

I have an MB2 and an ALT1C PW which I have really enjoyed, both quite versatile

Breitling for me, such a lovely clean face. In house movement as well in these now I think?

Nothing against Bremont, but for me the watch of theirs I'd want would be the MB.

Breitling if it were my choice between the two - that Superocean is a superb design (especially in blue!).

The Breitling uses a Tudor-developed movement.

I know the MB is very popular, and I considered it, but I'm not really a fan of pilot watches, and I have no aviation connections for which the MB tie up would be meaningful

Both are quality products. I would go with the Bremont as I like the lumed sapphire bezel and the design has more character - I find the design of the Breitling to be somewhat bland.

I'm a big fan of Bremont but the Supermarine doesn't do it for me.

When they first launched the Supermarine, it blew me away. I've loved it ever since, but never owned one. It's now ten years old or so, and I wonder if I'm in love with the watch, or just the idea of it.

I'm also a fan of all the vintage revisits everone is making at the moment. Real vintage watches are too small for me, so the new 'trendy' ones seem perfect. I think the Breitling has a (haha) timeless look. It's a lot more understated than most Breitlings - a good thing in my opinion - but I'm not a dress watch person, so I don't know how it'll wear with jeans and a t shirt.

I like the simplicity of the Breitling with the black strap and face/bezel. I own a Rolex Sea-Dweller so simple classic design is more my thing than a busy face. That said I do quite like the Bremont brand idea and design just not the one shown..

This, plus being a Sinn and Damasko owner I like the idea of the hardened steel that Bremont use.

Breitling. The face alone versus the Bremont is enough but the Breitling mesh is the most comfortable bracelet I've ever worn.

If I had to choose it would be the Breitling. The Bremont just looks too busy for me.

In true PH style, the goalposts are moving. I could swap one of the choices for a Tudor BB and an Oris Aquis...

The Tudor.
