Thousands of random followers and likes on Instagram!?!?
Discussion
I posted a pic on our business page on instagram yesterday and since then the picture has had more than 10k likes - we had 13k followers yesterday and this has now gone up to 15k overnight. The likes are not stopping and are all originating from countries such as Turkey and Brazil! It's well weird as the people who have begun to follow us would have no interest in our line of business. The max likes we usually get on a pic is around 300 at the max so this is something really weird going on. Followers are increasing every minute. I have tried to make the account private and the requests stop but as soon as I make it public random people start following us again!?
Someone has suggested that a competitor has paid to buy likes and has given our company page as the name to add the likes. The reason they did this was so that Instagram find out that we have paid for bots and they delete our account!?
How can I get around this as it's really irritating the hell out of me? I have already written to Instagram help to ask what is going on but no response from them as yet...any ideas?
