Thought it time to start a thread on PCars 2 which launches this year, somewhere to post the latest news and announcements and possibly where Borntobeslow can post what he can from his testing knowledge, sadly I am not involved in the beta programme this time as I was with PCars 1.

Having seen all he preview info about, it looks like a big step on from 1, addressing some of the issues pCars 1 had and building on existing features.

Live track 3 looks really impressive, the wet weather looks really impressive with puddle build up and drying lines, only rfactor 2 has this currently.

New tyre model looks really impressive as well with sidewall flex demonstrated already.

Car line-up looks really strong as well, I imagine all the existing manufacturers are there, McLaren have announced that most of their vehicles will be included and I have seen some videos that include what looks like Porsche and rumours of Maranello donkeys as well. Jaguar are a new confirmed manufacturer with the XJ220 TWR and XJ 9 which look great.

For fans of turning left, Indy car looks to be included as well as Rallycross old and new which they are currently pushing with previews.

It's looking good so far!

I'm not allowed to say much, unless it's already been released through official channels.

It's still dev builds and not optimised so my ancient machine struggles at times. I can tell you the car movement and handling are brilliant, so much more car control. Track roster and car list includes everything you'd ever want to see, well mostly.

I'd recommend keeping up to date with these discussions...

Good thread over on GTPlanet as well

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/board/pcars-2/

Both of these were highly critical of PCars1 so are a good place to get the cold hard view/discussion.

Personally, I've been so busy playing PCars1 with the recent addition of VR. I haven't been anywhere near as involved this time round (my PC is now 6 years old so is starting to struggle).

Knockhill added as a track. That's enough of an incentive for me to pre-order the game on PS4, along with the existing Brands Hatch and Nurburgring Nordschleife tracks.

Here's a little video I made of Knockhill in PCARS2 smile , I have lots of excuses for the quality of the driving, but that first turn off camber is a beast smile

Excellent, thank you for posting that. I'm really looking forward to this game.

I assume you are on the beta test panel for the PC version? I hope the PS4 version runs as smoothly.

Cheers,
Steve

Kind of, I've had access since they started but hardly touched it because I was enjoying the first game so much and was too busy to test it regularly. Until the code was optimised my ageing PC just couldn't cope with it anyway. Nice and stable now and plays beautifully.

They are spending an awful lot more time in QA on the console versions this time around, once bitten twice shy in that respect.
