Ludovico Einaudi - Islands

What a wonderful find! I recently travelled to Mauritius and found a collection of classical piano music playing on the flight. Frustratingly it wasn't listed in the in-flight magazine and so I couldn't identify the composer. Several weeks later I randomly come across a video while browsing YouTube which identified the composer and performer: Ludovico Einaudi. The album is "Islands". I'm now listening to it and drifting off into a relaxed slumber....bliss.

I do enjoy classical music but I'm bordering on being tone-deaf and have no idea how technically accomplished this music is....but I think it's wonderful.

Einaudi is very good, and I loved his work when I first started listening to classical stuff.

Notwithstanding other similar "chillout" piano work by greats such as Lizst and Chopin, Fabrizio Paterlini writes music very much like Einaudi:-

There's a reason for that. He was snubbed by the classical community because he composed music that was more akin to modern arrangements eg 4/4 timings.

I love Einaudi's work and also love trance and other dance styles.

I'm 31 and love him, saw him at Sydney Opera House in February and the demographic was anyone from 20 to 80!

Probably the best live act I have ever seen.

He tours quite a lot so I would keep an eye on his website to see when he is playing in the UK (just checked London in June although may be sold out).
