Horrah!

Picked the CBR's up from their winter store last night & plugged their life support systems in at home.

They are very happy to be home & feeling energised & raring to go!....

An,

Just a quick pick of your brains to find out some more bout the CBR1000RR. I am looking at chopping the Duke in after 3 years of great ownership and look to a new 05 Blade. Have you had any issures wiv the 04 bike. Any good on track etc.? Ikea have declined my platinum card this year so funds will be directed towards the new bike. I have been offered a 0 mile 05 in blue/silver for £7699 after shopping around. Look forward to seeing you and the crew at a Sarff meet or brekkie run soon. (Going out Sunday morning early if anyone interested?)

Cheers
Ikea Jim

Wouldn't it be best if you learnt to go round corners first

Hi James,

I've not had any issues with the bike at all, the speedo needed changing under warranty (Honda are faultless on that score) when I first got it but other than that it's been fine. I've used the bike on 7 track days - including the ones in France & it's been a great all rounder - as you know, I'm not the fastest or hardest rider & I guess you'll have to weigh up your 'main' use of the bike - but Kitty bike has served me really well, for touring, track & rideouts. I'd reccommend it as a great all rounder & completely reliable (aren't all Hondas?).

Someone else posted about the blade recently that they were changing it because they were unhappy with it but I'm not sure what the reason was - all the owners I know (5) who use them on track & road are really happy with them.

Edit: Give me a bell about Sunday - we may be interested - weather depending!

Ben,

Like this you mean? Lucky number 3 at Rocket Ron's school for nutters.

An,

BBC website looks good for Sunday morning, albeit slightly colder than Saturday. Early morning dash for brekkie anyone. I shall send you a text to confirm that I have your number still.

Thanks for the info on the Blade, I need to get down to P&H and book a test on their demonstrator. Just to make sure. The recent service on the Duke was mental and I have been told that the next one requires a head rebuild so the time has come.

Anybody else coming out to play on Sunday?

Jim

nice shot James

The weather is indeed meant to be good on Sunday but I'm not convinced about an early morning run

How early is early

6.00am was the usual start time down at Burpham. This allows for less cars on the road. Don't know how people feel about that on a Sunday morning but it was certainly worth it before.

Re: the piccie, I was p*&sed off as my mate (No.2) in front got the best shot in his photo collection. My shot at that point is of me when I have gone too far round the Melbourne hairpin, thus not showing the sparky knee slider grinding. Best book up a track day soon and get some more done.

I got some great ones from my last track day at Brands, unfortunately the bloke there doing the piccies was a bit behind the times and was using film, so I can't upload them

6:00 are you having a laugh, maybe in July

Yeah - 6am too early for us too!! It's still too cold for the dawn runs!! how about 9am?

I'll mail both of you as I have a new moby number

It's Dave's burfday on Sunday too - it may be both of us or it may be just Dave.... I'm still having issues with road-riding/driving

James - if you don't get any joy with P&H (they charge a tenner for demo's) try Dobles - I bought my bike from Malcom - he's ok, despite being a gingga!!

(Disclaimer - With a view to PC, the above is not meant with any malice but purely to humour)
