Network...

Get a nice broadband router with a 4-port hub in it and some Cat5 cables and you're done.

If you have loads (as in many gigs) then network is slow.

Best way I reckon is onto a portable USB2/FireWire device and then off again onto your PC.

If you want to network anyway then get yourself a crossover CAT5 cable if you have a spare Ethernet jack in each machine or as has been mentioned a hub/switch/router and a bunch of regular patch CAT5 cables if either machine doesn't have a spare jack.

Just make sure you have USB 2.0 in both machines...

If you're stuck with USB1 on one of the 'puters then as a last resort a £20 CF reader will connect to both. Not by any means the best, but it'll definately work.

All sorted. As my Telefonica entry point and computer are at different ends of V6GTO Mansions I have a wireless router. With it came a LAN cable, and after a bit of jiggerypokery it's working fine. And I didn't need to e-mail Luca Brazzi once!
