Is the font meant to be like this?

At work, google chrome. My eyes aren't what they were, so I can't tell if the font is meant to be like this, or is it something to do with the settings on our pcs?

It looks like different letters vary in width, boldness & intensity, and I don't know if it's just my bad eyes that finds it hard to read or not. The edges of the letters don't seem to be perfectly straight, it's as if they are slightly ragged.

Windows 7. However it might be problem with the way our work have set it up as some other websites also look like that. Not all though, so presumably there's a way some websites control what font is loaded / used.

I've spoken with one of the dev team who has suggested to either the clear type setting: https://www.winhelp.us/change-font-smoothing-in-wi... or the smooth edge one https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/127337-smoot... (or even both).

The update we have just released may solve this problem as well!
