Just wondering if anybody on here has bought and fitted some of the Intatrim Odyssey seats in the Chim.
As im 6ft5" tall and long legs im having challenges with my original seats, and the fact i feel like im going to slip out of the shoulder section every time i go round a corner, isnt good.
Ive been to the factory and sat in a Odyssey and they seem ok, but just wondering how straight forward they are to fit in a chim... Ie TVR runners fitted to the bottom etc...
Thanks Dave.

A google search brings up a couple of threads:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

This thread looks like it includes the seats that you want and others:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I havent read each of the threads in full but hopefully you will find some useful info there

Hi Dave,

In brief I have the Odyssey II seats, I'm also 6'5", 37" leg & 15 stone with a very dodgy back etc. I've had them in for about 2.5 years and find them both comfortable on a long run & supportive on track (i'm now in my 2nd season of the Speed Championship). There is some premature wear on the drivers side seat bolster, which may be partly due to harness buckle rubbing/catching.

I have the drivers seat bolted to the floor and the passenger seat fitted to the original runners. I have added some bracing to the seat bases to spread the mounting point stress and had extra chassis rails added when new outriggers were fitted 18 months ago to bolt the seat mounts through (although this is just good practice regardless of which seats are fitted).

In short I'm very happy with them.

the seats are not tall enough to give head support. The head rest is also angled a bit too much backward. I have a long back as you can probably tell.

I ripped my oddysey 2s apart, cut the headrests off, made a mould and fiberglassed them together again, now in the right angle to give head support and 4 inches taller. Had them reupholstered. Cost a lot.

When I was at school I always thought of myself as one of the taller kids, at 6 ft 0in (1.83m for our Oslo contingent). I was a child of the 1950s, so we didn't have a lot. No remote controlled cars, no calculators, mobile phones, video games, netflix etc. But what we did have worked properly - creosote for preserving fences, hand-me-downs to ensure we always looked like convicts, bad haircuts ditto, warm free school milk to give you food poisoning, polio, ricketts, fillings in our teeth.

So late in life I get into TVRs, and find I fit nicely, but am surrounded by giants who insist on fitting themselves into the same cars as me.....Ole, you must be about 6ft 4 (1.93m), Peter (Phazed) likewise, Richard is, as he says, about 6ft 5, Mat Smith, my TVR guru is 6ft 7in (2m).

Mad..... hehe

I'm just 1.87m! But my back is soooooo long, whilst my legs are super short. One of the Cerbera owners here in Oslo is 2.05. Amazing how he fits in there...

Not sure where abouts you are in the country, but if anywhere near Staffordshire, I've a set of odyssey 2's that I'm about to fit in my chim and so you're welcome to come see them.
