AO 02 is a reg plate from hethal, worth checking it wasnt a press car.
Could also be a management car. Mine was originally AO51 and was used by a member of staff (it was also the development car for the type 25, so is unique
Check the cars' history by all means, but from experience my car is extremely well sorted (no leaks, or other foibles).
I would suggest that if it is a Lotus owned car it will have been well maintained. I know that Chris Neils, in Northwich, shifted these cars for Lotus when they got to around 8000miles. This was before they became an official Lotus dealer in early 2002, not sure who sells them now.
Regards, Neil
Thanks a lot for replies - spot on.
Lotus are very helpful - it was a press car but persuaded by Lotus that maintenance would be top standard.
So travelled 4.5 hrs from Dorset to Shrewsbury - on arrival sill badly damaged, unhappy wih the stereo installation and didn't like the replacement seats.
However, car did seem well set up despite enthusistic owner ;0
So on balance, found a b&B then drove 4.5 hrs home again.
i am ok with that as I am now one step closer to finding my car.
Btw - Lotus will sell management cars direct to us public - they are sending me a list.
