I am looking at leasing a Golf Gti and noticed that VW do a fixed price service scheme.

Has anyone any experience of this, as while it looks like it covers things like oil and filter, other less standard items such as DSG oil change are not covered?

Do you mean the 2 x full services and 2 x MOTs for £399?

(one major and one minor) excludes DSG and brake fluid.

Some details here - there's a basic scheme and another more comprehensive one: http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/servicing/servi... - scroll down for the more comprehensive one.

How long are you leasing for, and over what mileage? Lease cars should be on longlife servicing and you can't use the basic scheme with that. Not sure on the other one.

VW are extremely irritating with things like brake fluid, DSG and Haldex oil changes. Although there's a schedule for them, they say they're customer options and don't include them in the plans - brake fluid has come in and out of the plans for years. I think now the basic servicing plan is just 2 yrs (it used to be 3yrs) so the brake fluid issue doesn't arise.

Thanks for that.

Website is as clear as mud, and doesn't mention the long life option.
