Hi. I want to buy some event tickets from an unknown source on Gumtree (yeah I know) The tickets are £300 so obviously I don't want to risk sending a cheque or bank transfer until I see the goods. Has anyone used a cash on delivery service or suggest a safe way to buy these in case I'm dealing with a sh!! head who wants to rip me off ? Private individual with no credit card facility.

I wouldn't be buying event tickets on Gumtree, what if they're fake? You have no comeback or real options

Not paid which is why I want to see the tickets first. Cash on delivery is my only option I think so would like to know if anyone has done it.

Send payment on paypal with the "goods and services" option, making sure to send enough over £300 that they get the full amount once paypal has taken its cut. this means you now have the same comeback and refund rights as if you'd bought them on ebay.

Yeah, until he goes to the event in a couple of months time and discovers the tickets are fake.

Good luck winning that Paypal claim...

Must be able to verify the authenticity of the tickets with the venue over the phone?
