I've become slightly obsessed with eating it. Ordered some decent stuff online which came in 500g bags but wondering if anyone has got any recommendations of suppliers..?

Also thinking of getting a box to do it myself, anyone got any advise on this??

Jody Scheckter's Laverstoke Park place does (or at least did, haven't had it for a while) excellent buffalo biltong.

My favourite is the chilli biltong from Savannah [sp?], usually get mine from the shop at Victoria station. I keep meaning to get the cabinet out again to start my own again but I haven't yet managed to get close enough to just buying it from Savannah.

You can't be slightly obsessed, you either are or you aren't.

These guys do awesome Biltong - http://www.limpopobiltong.com/. You can even choose how wet/dry even fatty you want it.

I'd never eaten it until a few years ago, but my now SA girlfriend introduced me and I bloomin love the stuff! Her dad makes his own in his garage, makes some awesome stuff.

Susman's (biltong.co.uk) is sold in Harrod's, and is in my opinion the best.

I like my biltong dry, with very little fat, so I get the 75g bags of 'stukkies' and 'chilli bites'.

The first time I tried it i didn't enjoy it, then I found chillie bites, omg I lived on this stuff, my bil made so much and I just kept munching on it. You know when you've eaten too much though when you can resmell it when you go toiletsmile

As it happens I've just done some promo material for Gloucester Biltong Co. They were kind enough to provide me with some samples and I have to say it's rather tasty once you get past the idea that it looks like a dog chew!!!
