Launch Control Issue

Can anyone explain what happened here. I found a quiet road to test the launch control prior to a track day visit. Glad I did as a strange thing happened. On my 2014 Pdk Cayman S which i just aquired I pressed the Sports plus button, left foot on brake , pressed acceleration all the way down, waited till launch control appeared on dash then foot off brake. More wheel spin than I expected but off it went, probably to around 50 then I saw a car round the bend onto the road in the distance. So I lifted off the acceleration, I may even have turned sports plus off can't remember. Anyway after I passed the car I looked down and no sport buttons were lit. Pressing the sport or sport plus button did nothing, the lights didn't come on. The sports exhaust and pasm buttons etc all still worked but I couldn't activate any sport mode. I had to pull over, ignition off then back on and sport buttons working again. Is this a symptom of an interrupted launch control perhaps or should I be worried.

just do another and run it's course, if it works then no issue.

I'm not sure how you would define that as an interrupted launch control, you did a launch, at what speed do you have to be going for the launch to finish? It doesn't sound normal, but maybe just a glitch, try it again a couple of times and see what happens.
