As it says in the title really, there are a number of kit cars being advertised on Ebay and Faceache that are blatantly not registered properly there is THIS for example.

The V5 says its a Austin Healey

I know all about buyer beware but this is so blatant.

Some kits were registered before the SVA and IVA tests came into force and the system wasnt there to see a problem and this was potentially done before the cut off anyway.

I find it interesting that nowhere in the advert do they mention that it is a kit car, but potential buyers would know that wouldn't they??

This might well be the case, but it's not really an excuse, is it? It should have been corrected during the amnesty period for such things which was around 20 years ago!!

It's a shame because it looks like a reasonable car, but it would need the V5 to be corrected to be sure you'll get an MoT and that would probably mean an IVA.

Maybe, but if you check the MOT it states Kit Car in its title .

However there was an amnesty for all kits to get them properly registered almost no questions asked before SVA came in. There is no excuse for it.

And of course everyone was aware of this ? Everyone got a letter from the DVLA ? Everyone is on forums and car sites ? Er........no.

Not sure why you have a bee in your bonnet over this . I had a Westfield registered wrong and if you knew the grief I had with the DVLA to get it changed, I had 9 months of hell, so I can understand also why some didnt bother. I even drove my car with no road tax as it had run out and the DVLA didnt know what to do with the cars details. They had inspected it twice . Once where they didnt even turn up. They told me to get a chassis number engraved in different places, Westfield said I didnt need it. And after 9 months, they just said 'Oh, we'll just call it a Westfield and send the docs back then'...............
I even know of the DVLA registering 2 cars with the same reg number and had no idea about two sets of chassis numbers and engine numbers on the same reg . It was only noticed at a rally event a mate was on and the photographer said he had taken 2 lots of pictures of differing cars with the same reg. Both 106 rally cars ex works.

If you are not buying the car yourself then just move on and chill out. Not your problem and not your fight.
