Bad Vibes and odd noise!!
Discussion
Hi all.
When I was at TVR Power yesterday I asked Dom if he could diagnose a couple of problems for me,anyway there is a bad vibration at around 85-90 that makes the drivers door shake quite a lot and it seems to come from the whole car but not through the steering wheel,Dom ran the car on the ramp and did notice one wheel slightly damaged but said try balancing the rear wheels to see if this helps. He also said that it is possible the crankshaft is out of balance causing this as the vibes seem to come through the chassis.Got the wheels balanced,no difference.
Any one have any thoughts on this?
One more thing, when starting the engine there is a klak-klak just for a second hot or cold that sounds to me like a tappet or two, but Dom and the TVR Centre say it is the starter motor and don't worry about it."They all do that sir" This may be true but surely there is a cure as I don't want to live with it really.
Thanks
Pete.

All I would say is they Dom knows his stuff... If the crank is out of balance then it needs sorting, and you should get this done under warrenty ASAP.
There is something to say about blueprinting the engine when they are built, it make for a lot smoother engine alround
