Canon EOS 1Ds vs Nikon D2x

Well Ed and I haven't got together yet to do the side by side comparison but just thought I would make you aware in next week's issue of British Journal of Photography they are indeed publishing their findings of the side by side test. So as this journal tends to be a little more 'professional' with its reviews it should be interesting to see what they say.
That said Ed is happy with his Canon I am happy with my Nikon so does it really matter?

of course it doesn't "matter" but then neither does the difference between a Porsche or a Ferrari! I have less interest in the matter now that I have chosen sides, but I might have to get hold of a copy anyway to see what they say

I must say the last 3 weeks reviewing the Nikon have been very interesting. Will be very interested to see what they say about them side-by-side.

However I think side-by-side is a bit pointless, since most people buying those bodies for that money will already be loked into one or other vendor due to lens choices. The only people I can see being interested are the pro houses who choose the kit for their field journos, and also set the standards with regards to image requirements for submissions from freelancers. For example Sports Illustrated in the US even state how high an ISO they will accept from each body...

That is fairly standard for most 'quality' magazines
