...it must be true - a labour politician was just on the news stating the "true" figures.

Obviously my car wasn't keyed recently and my kids weren't picked on at the local swings by a bunch of chavs. That's encouraging.

Crime is reducing for sure.

Probably due to the fact that there's so much theft, there's getting less and less to steal?

Certain catergories of crime are falling such as vehicle and house break ins due to better security-because these are a large proportion of overall crime, the total is falling. Violent crime is still increasing.

In my opinion "petty crime" is at an all time high. O Of course I'm not going to report my BMW being keyed, because there's naff all chance of them catching anyone.

Tell that to my mate who witnessed his friend getting stabbed to death the other week. Some crime may well be down - but the nasty, gritty, REAL stuff is certainly on the up.

How many murders per capita today compared to 10 years ago? How much greater chance of being mugged or assaulted today compared to 10 years ago? I've no statistics but would be willing to bet that the country is less safe now than it has ever been (aside from Viking pillagers, Norman invaders, Roman Legions and the Luftwaffe )

I don't believe crime is falling for an instant.

It's simply that most people are so disillusioned with the law and legal system that they simply don't bother to report it anymore.

What a triumph for the politicians over the past two decades.

Can somebody kindly post a couple of pics for me to demonstrate 'just how much crime is reducing'...

My aunties car was burnt out last night in a quiet private road - right outside my parents house! Its the first night ever that the car hasnt been actually ON the drive and some little fer came along and done this to it...

What makes this all so upsetting for me and my family is that my aunty currently is really struggling with cancer and is fit to do nothing...It could not have come at a worse time to be honest. I really really hope to god I never find out which little scrote done this or I may wind up adding to the 'supposedly reducing' criminals myself!!!

If someone can help me post a pic, then you can have a go at guessing what the car used to be.

2001

There are others, basically murders are on the up, and there is some indication that there is some efforts to disguise it so true figures could be increasing faster still.
