Its Big Als fault
He suggested I popped into here.
Thing is.. I'm moving on and therefore up.
The Chim has to go..don't get me wrong here its been the best 12 months ever, but its now Tuscan time for me.
If anyone has any advice where to buy
the pros or cons of Tuscan ownership please let me know.
From my little knowledge its best to go for later model
ie after 2001.
You can email me if thats easier
Cheers Phil

Age of the engine (since last rebuild) is more important than "age of the car" as a whole, in my opinion. If you really want to play the "don't buy a car unless it was made after X" game (which I wouldn't), X would have to be mid-late 2002.
Would judge it all far more on how good condition the car's in, and would specifically look for a car with higher mileage so that it's not been left lying around for weeks on end.

May be a little off topic, and i'm sure its probably come up before, but, how do you think mileage effects Tuscans. I was chatting to a dealer regarding my car, which is a 53 plate and has 15,000 miles on it and he was saying that if there were two cars the same age and roughly the same price and one had 15,000 and one had 2000 miles that 100% of purchasers would go for the car with less miles. He also stated that he has been selling TVR's for a long time and has never had a customer that has chosen a car because it has more miles. Now, if it was any other marque then i would agree, BUT this is TVR. Maybe its just me, but if i was looking at a car that was 18 mnts to 2 years old, perhaps older, then i'd be interested as to why the car only has 2000 miles, we all know why some cars can spend alot of time of the road!

My view:
10k miles = just over £1k off the value of a Tuscan.
SOME people would LIKE to go for higher mileage Tuscans, but NEARLY ALL end up going for lower mileage ones... it's drummed into you from birth.
Especially given that the majority of buyers don't browse PH and see the "get one with a few miles on it" posts.billynomates said:

silly low miles I agree. I stayed away from tuscs with less than 10K on them when I was looking (for rebuild issues).
The thing to bear in mind with ones around the 20-25K though is that if they've nto had a new clutch they'll need one soon at a cost of >1000 quid. So that immediately knocks 1K off the price if u ask me.
