Complaining about a vinyl pressing??

Ok, appreciate this is pretty small beer and I pretty much have better things to do with my time but it's annoyed me and I feel the need to at least vent some frustration.
I'm a huge fan of Vangelis' Blade Runner soundtrack and have long-fancied a vinyl copy of it, but been put off by the frankly insane 'collector' pricing the few available attract.
When it was announced that it was being released as a picture disc for this year's Record Store Day I was pretty excited and rushed down to the shop to get a copy.
I am ENORMOUSLY disappointed. I know picture discs aren't the last word in audio reproduction (God knows why they bothered with such gimmickry) but it's complete dogs
t. The surface rumble is just unbearable and masks a load of detail in the music. The warmth is non-existent and I pretty much hate it. Throw in a few pops on a brand new vinyl midway through Blade Runner Blues and I wish I'd never heard of it. It's not just my copy, or I'd return it. A look at discogs.com shows many dissatisfied customers with the same issues.
So who do I moan at?
The disc was published by Warner Music but pressed by Optimal Media Gmbh. Do I moan to the publisher for commissioning such a st project or the record plant for making such a st print of it?
Makes me hate the whole concept of Record Store Day as it's obviously just become a cynical cash-grab for the Crosley Turntable generation, rather than something genuinely designed to support the vinyl industry.

I always treat picture disks as artwork rather than something practical. That's why I don't own any and was so annoyed for so long that the Manics Holy Bible was only on PD for so long.

(and for less than the cost of the Record Store Day copy that I had to win on Ebay...)
It's a fair point about PDs but still, I feel like they ought to be at least fit for purpose, if not the very last word in fidelity?

It is gimmicky RSD. There's a great second hand record store here in Guildford called Bens, and he told me about what they expect from shops, ordering blind, people being stuck with £100s of stock that won't sell, it really does show that it's really become more about how much can be made as opposed to anything else.

Yeah, it's a shame but I suppose it's only to be expected with Amazon et al jumping on the bandwagon and so on. I know a few pals who have been given one of those cheap nasty TT's with the built in speakers and ceramic cart for christmas or so, who just want a few of their favourite albums to listen to for a laugh. I guess for them, the quality is broadly irrelevant but it's infuriating when there's an opportunity for such a rare release to get out there and it's hamstrung like that. Oh well, who am I to blow against the winds of commercialism...?

I can accept they aren't great sounding but honestly, the BR one is pretty exceptionally poor to my ears. It gets quite a slating on discogs and a lot of people seem to have the same pops on Side B track 1 so must have been something up with the pressing...
