Mk1 Ford Focus 2.0 turbo conversion?

I'm wondering if people could help me with building a turbo motor to fit into my mk1 focus?
My car is currently a factory spec 1999 2.0 but obviously bog standard.
I'm wondering if the existing engine at 73k is worth modifying to get to a kinda factory fit under the bonnet or buy a secondhand rs motor?
I'm not wanting huge power as it's an everyday estate car but perhaps 230bhp?
It needs to pass an mot emissions test as per a factory car.
Any help is very much appreciated

Hate to say it, but don't bother. Just sell it and buy something better
To make it happen you will need a turbo, manifold, exhaust, engine mapping, injectors, compression lowering, intercooler, fuel pump, boost control... and that's just the beginning. It will cost you thousands of pounds in parts and the fact you're asking here means you will need to pay someone to do it and that will also cost you thousands of pounds.
It will also be off the road for months and it will break all the time.
For what it would cost, you could buy a Porsche 996.

But it's advice from someone that's actually done a similar conversion I'm after so I don't get stuck on buying the wrong or inferior conversion parts.
