Using the same logic, can they also have your house demolished if you crank up the TV a bit much?
How about concreting over the garden 'cos the
lawn mowers have woken me from my Sunday morning lie-in....?
Isn't it this sort of thing that ASBO's were created for?

Having suffered from spoilt brats thinking it was ok to park outside my house and play “music” so f loud it totally drowned out our tv night after night.
I really couldn’t care less if cars are crushed, preferably with the drivers still inside.
Ultimately the police were involved when Mrs c c at the end of her tether started throwing bricks over the hedge. The police were even less impressed when she said next time it would be petrol bombs.

If you read teh article properly, it says that they'll only have the cars crushed if they don't pay the fines, which is fair enough really.
Driving, especially in town, with loud music on isn't terribly safe anyway as you've cut off one sense. You can't hear approaching ambulances etc, and possibly the horn of the car you're about to crash into.

Sorry if my post was read as being sympathetic towards the people making the noise. It wasn't really intended that way.
It just seems that crushing the car is a bit extreme.
Fair enough, if they are cruising residential streets in the dead of night doing it, then I'd be the first to join the queue to give them a good thrashing, but:

Surely the pubs and clubs will be just as noisy on a Saturday as the weather warms up and the windows / doors are left open?
What I am getting at is that (I believe) if you are noisy in your house through loud music or whatever, they go through several procedures (warnings, fines, court etc) and quite often confiscate your equipment from the house.
Now they can issue ASBOs against noisy neighbours, and I think they have done so successfully in many cases, so why not take this course of action (including confiscation of the equipment from the car), instead of:
Noisy car, fine, no pay, crush car.
Hence my comparison to:
Noisy neighbour, fine, no pay, demolish house.
