I've just been on a short trip, literally 25 minutes ago. On the request of my daughter who was only 14 last week and turned 15 about 6 days ago, I found myself travelling to the cinema to pick her up.

She was there, with a group of about 7 or 8 others of mixed sex and confused hairstylists.

As I pulled up on the opposite side of the road, my sweet little daughter waved over and acknowledged my arrival.

She had earlier asked if I could drop a couple of her mates off, which I agreed to. She set about assembling the two friends and said her goodbyes to the remaining few.

Then, it happened. A boy (of similar age to my girl) came over and gave my daughter a big hug and a peck on the cheek. My eyes focused like never before. Like a sniper in a bush surrounded by the enemy.

:breatheasynow,breatheeasy:

My girl has grown up. She was 10 a few minutes ago for s sake.

NO

Where the hell did my innocent little girl go to?

You need to have "the talk" with the young man. Show him the end scene in Casino, when Joe Pesci gets beaten to death and then thrown, twitching, into a shallow grave in a field. Let him know that this fate awaits him, should he mess with your daughter......

Ah, just clicked. Nowt to worry about, he's gay
Thats a typical 'gay male friend of the girlies' goodbye. (Any normal lad would have had his tongue down her throat).

As they say, with boys you only have one pk to worry about...

Oh how I am looking forward to my step-daughter getting to this age. I can picture the scene now:-

"Hi, I'm John, Jess' Step-dad and I'm a solicitor, this is Jess' eldest brother Lee, who's in the Army, Scott her other brother who plays rugby for the first team and this is my shotgun, any questions about having her home by 10?"

Nearly every girl I ever went out with was somebody's daughter. But that's a different story.

I'm glad I've got a sense of humour.

Instead of simply throttling the boy in question, I'll do it with a Ronald Reagan rubber mask on and tell him a joke while I'm at it.

What makes it worse though, I'm only 33!

So, some quick mathematics and hey presto...

I hope my daughter copies me in many aspects, apart from my bedhopping tendencies.

ETA: Old bedhopping antics, that is. Hi, Mrs Lazy

I would also add using a line something like "I know where you live, and I will hunt you down wherever you hide and wreak furious vengeance upon you."

Then after you have shown him Casino, show him Samuel L. Jackson's opening scene from Pulp Fiction followed by The Godfather Horse's Head scene and finally Joe Pesci's "Funny How?" in Goodfellas.

Then start calling him Spider.
