Hello,
parts info for a vixen s4 or 1600m please

-engine mounts for the crossflow ( escort I think)
-gearbox mount for a 5 speed ( capri ?)
-gearbox crossmember
-propshaft for the 5 speed
-exhaust manifold ( pure TVR? or cat , westfield?
-also the chassis number is ungraved on the chassis near the battery but I think on the S4 there is also a plate like vixen s3 or 2500m, if you know
where I can find them in good or new condition or parts suppliers

Thanks

Hi,
Give a company called Newford a try for your engine mounts etc, I have a number for them somewhere and will post it up when I find it.

I fitted Burton H.D.Mk1 escort engine mounts on my 1600M,my vixen has a type9 5-speed in it the mount looks like normal sierra one,the mounting plate is modified from the original 4-speed extended backwards.Exhaust manifolds are specials not the same as Fords tubular ones but are available. Be careful if the gearbox bellhousing is one with a starter motor bulge on both sides, the manifold only just clears

Hi, thanks for the response I try to find them, I plan to fit in, a newly built 1720cc AX block crossflow with a 155,160hp potential and a SCCR gearbox, do you know if the differential is able to support the power, I think it is a TR6 on the M chassis not the vitesse like the other vixen, I think no problem with it but if you have tested!!!
Also for the chassis plate if you know?
Cheers

The 1600M's used the Mk4 Spitfire diff, same as the Vitesse.Mine is about 135horsepower,100 at the wheels, the diff copes with that OK.Use an 8 1/2inch clutch from an RS2000 etc.rather than an uprated 7 1/2 inch original, they blow diffs apart, far too harsh,Ihave also used a lightened Lotus flywheel with a Lotus Cortina clutch, early Mk3 cortinas used crossflows with the later gearbox and bigger clutch, should all match up with 5-speed most tuners like Vulcan and Burton will re drill flywheels to suit.Canley Classics are useful for Spitfire diff bits-even do alloy casings and l.s.d's.As for chassis numbers on early M's they were just stamped on the top chassis tube near the battery, usually covered in paint by now.

Hi,
thanks a lot, I have found the engine bracket, gearbox mount, I need 2 engine mount that I buy I think from Burton, and I search the gearbox cross member with 4 holes to fit in the chassis, modified ford capri?
If you can help or if you have a pic or know where I can found DAVID GERALD perhaps?
For the chassis number I thought there would be a plate like my vixen s3 or 2500m but only on the chassis like you describe.
For the diff I haven't seen that it would be different than the 2500m not tr6, you are true, but I think the original ratio could be changed because the first gear is too long on the quaife gearbox.
Cheers
