I bet if your neighbour started an indian restaurant next door, and the cooking smells wafted over your house all day long, you'd be massively pissed off.

I'm all for the person complaining tbh. Cooking smells can be nice, but not all day long.

I really can't understand how some of you can make the connection with left-wing mumbo. This is just common sense. The woman lives their 24/7. It's been her home for 10 years. Her husband said he had also complained to the council about an increase in litter, on-street parking and noise since the sandwich shop had opened. In other words, since it was changed from a retail outfit, it has turned her 'front door' into a s***hole. Anyone here want to volunteer their front door for someone else's convenience and profit?

I already have. New people moved in next door. Got planning permission to convert the downstairs into a day nursery (brown envelopes are suspected), made a load of dough, moved out leaving the whole building as a nursery.

I agree too. It's the usual knee-jerk reaction of blaming "lentilists" for everything. It's hardly left-wing to not want a fast food outlet on your doorstep. Those of you who disagree - how would you like it if your neighbours suddenly decided to open a kebab shop or whatever right next door to you?

The reporter is trying to provoke reaction by repeatedly mentioning that the complainant is a vegetarian. However he is not complaining because they're selling bacon, but because of the associated smell.

I think it's fair enough - I wouldn't want my house smelling like a fry-up every day. I wouldn't particularly like to walk around town smelling like a bacon butty either - if for no better reason that the likes of Parrot of Doom would be chasing me round Benny Hill style

No I would not like to live next to a fast food place, if it was there before him fair enough he knew what he would be moving next to but he has been there 10 years and the shop was only taken over recently.

I live near a takeaway resturant that changes hands every 3 or 4 years and what ever is there, chinese, fish & chips etc makes the surrounding area smell but does not quite reach my house. Also when it changes into a chip shop, twice so far, it attracts kids who intimidate people, graffiti walls and damage shops and public property this I have witnessed. We now have police patrol the are and move the kids along. This is what I would object to

Not that I'm fussed, cant eat anything these days without it being dangerous
