Hello,

ive had to replace the fan controller on my S1 and was wondering what is the correct engine running temperature to set the fan to come on at. Is it 90?

Also at what point on the gauge is 90? is it when the needle hovers over 90 or when it aligns with the white mark above the 90?

Thanks

No idea but mine sits on the little white line, and has done for as long as I can remember (which, to be honest, isn't that long these days)

I imagine the "90" is about 90 degrees and the line may be 95/100ish ? With a 15 PSI pressure cap coolant shouldn't boil till about 120 degrees.

will also depend on the temperature opening of the thermostat.

I believe? mine is an 88degC stat so gauge should show just under 90 line on the gauge. It is possible to have stats opening at other temperatures, so needle will sit at a different position.

My motor originally came without the stat internals and the needle sat horizontal, I thought it was ok until I drove to Burghley (FROSTY MORNING) last year and the needle sat just above 50degC until I experimented by closing up behind a bus on the motorway and then the needle rose up to horizontal!!
