Saturday is the day!! Off to get the Cerbera.....
Discussion
... assuming it all drives (hard) fine, no issues, concerns etc deal done.
Are there anythings I need to consider before handing over the money and driving it home, about 40 miles, other than checking oil/water levels?
When I give it the big test drive, what should I look out for that is Cerb specific and could be costly?
When I was running it last weekend, bearing in mind it hadnt been run for a month or so, I revved it(not high), on a warm engine and it backfired slightly, not a misfire, and cut out. Then took about 3 attempts to start and rumbled away again.
However, there was then a rattle, which sounded like it was coming from the back of the exhaust towards the back box? Almost like a bolt rattling internally?
After "getting under" the car, it is possible the noise was coming from a grill/grid about 1ft back from the back box? Any ideas on that one pls?
Anyway, Saturday cant come soon enough. Just annoyed that I am having to ring round to get someone to give me a lift, as SWT have NO trains running into London from Walton on Thames, again. Thats almost every weekend this year. GRRRRRRRRRRRR........
Might have to ride down and collect bike in the week ;-) after work. That will be a final blast for it, just whacked it up for sale on Bike Trader and Ebay.

Yeah, that metal plating can vibrate. Lost count of the number of times I added/removed washers to space it properly on the Tusc as things shifted about.
Would be far more concerned about it cutting out. Did the MIL light (the red one on the dash) come on? Is this a private/indy/dealer sale? That'd have alarm bells ringing for me. Could be nothing, of course.
Just remember to buy with your head...

What's the deal ? How much etc. I gotta say that I'd want it to be either perfect when I tested, or very cheap. Have you had it checked out ?
Trust me, even a car that you've had checked can end up costing you a fortune ......
On the other hand, you've got a road legal racing car that out performs all but the most exotic supercars - get out there and use it !

No, the MIL light did not come on at any other time than at before ignition.
Exactly, I could have it checked out, and the clutch could go next week.
I could have the gearbox fall apart on me, anything that a check isnt going to find. So yes trying to buy with my head.
This is a low miler, 16k, 99 4.5, in very very clean condition. It has been well maintained, just not used a hell of alot, like quite a few low milers out there.
Im confident that the guy I am buying from is genuine, and as particular as I am about these things......
Hoping the weather stays fine so can boot it on the test run.
