Fuel gauge drops down to just under half tank and goes no further. If I fill up it goes up, which makes me think the sender is at fault and not achieving full travel. My car has the Stewart Warner gauges.
Question is Where and what tank is the sender attached to?
Is it easily accessible?
If I have to get a new one is it shared with anything?

If it's a twin tank one, you can see the sender if you crawl underneath (from the back). You can get it out, but it's a bit fiddly to undo the bolts as the tube frame makes the angles awkward for the screwdriver.

Mine failed and 'locked' at the same reading, and turned out the little 'pip' on the end of the wiper arm had fallen out. Replaced with tiny nut and bolt, and polished the head so it didn't catch on any wires, so didn't have to buy a new one.

As far as I know calibration is same as Smiths (Lucas) ones (Triumph/BL/Rover).

Mine (280i) is on driver's side. It's located next to the top hose connection....

roflroflrofl If you haven't got access to a ramp then it's an axle stands job.

TVR Parts has the gaskets.
