W211 E320 SHOULD I?
Discussion
Yes.
Early last year I bought a 53 plate estate, 111k miles, £3.5k.
I've bought a proper alloy spare, a couple of tyres, and it's had a service at a non MB garage.
I did have to buy a dipstick, just for peace of mind, which annoyed me a little.
It's my works load lugger, my tow car, and a best car all in one. Very pleased with it.

In a word yes!
I bought my E320 CDI (2003) with 104k on the clock. It's been an absolutely brilliant all round car since I bought it. Only costs have been servicing and a new battery. Everything works, the engine has plenty of go and yet can still give a genuine 45/46mpg. In fact I'd say it's actually quite a quick car, the 5 speed auto is not as smooth as the later 7 speed but perfectly good and cruises fine at motorway speeds.
I took mine on a family holiday (4 up) within a week of buying it, did 700 miles and it totally won me over. It's now done 113k and if I'm honest, if you were told it only it only had 60k on the clock you wouldn't question it.
Only things to be aware of is the air suspension, can be costly if it breaks but I really like it as a feature. Check the arches for rust, mine has a little but making an appearance but not in a way that can't be resolved. Also, you want a decent service history so make sure it's got a yearly stamp.
