Are there any classic Seiko experts around here by any chance? There's an old Seiko for sale on Chrono24 that seems a bit pricey and so I was maybe going to make a cheeky offer and see what happens however i'm struggling to work out it's true value.

I'm no expert however a link to the watch in question would certainly help wink

I'll PM it to you as I don't think you're allowed to put links like that up here.

You can post it here, there aren't any rules against it. You'll get a bigger audience if you post it in public.

Edit - just seen your PM, bit under the influence right now but might take a look in the morning.

Somewhat over-polished, wouldn't you agree?

We're not supposed to give valuations. So I won't. But I guess I can say that the seller has overvalued that by about £750.
It's a mid-grade Seiko. Nothing special. It has been heavily over polished. Dial appears to be in good condition, doesn't look like a redial, but it can be hard to tell.
Critically and most tellingly, there is no picture of the movement. NEVER buy a vintage watch without seeing a picture of the movement. This is a dealer, no excuse for no movement picture.
A cheeky offer for this would be £100.

If you're interested in vintage Japanese watches, hunt down a couple of sellers on ebay. Reed0702 and I think saitama_jp. I may have the name of the second slightly wrong.

Do not forget that if you buy from outside the EU you will be charged 20% (of item value and postage) + about £20 fees to import.

Thanks for the tip.
