Alarm woes

My alarm seems to have been working quite happily, up until about a week ago....

Now, when I return to the car,upon pressing the fob, the alarm starts sounding, as if it's acting like a panic button.

Three or four goes of me arming (goes quite), diss arming (starts sounding again), seems to clear it.

Any ideas please

Thanks Andy, before I read your reply, I tried re synching the fob, by disconnecting the battery & re connecting with the fob pressed...

I had exactly the same symptoms as you a while back....

Happened over a weekend, and got to the point where I ended up driving 2 hrs back from my folks place in Somerset with the alarm constantly wailing away.

Every time I re-armed it stopped...turned out to be a dodgy siren, it's internal battery had gone dead...about £65 IIRC.

Thanks Cats, I've just gone out to it & it's playing up again,

disarm the alarm & it starts sounding (like the panic button), rearm it and it stops, go through that cycle three times & on the fourth disarm it lets me in peacefully....

I can here the sounder changing pitch, as if it's suffering a volt drop, so I think your prognosis could be correct.

I'll see how far away metaman is
