ParkAssist Error

On Friday evening whilst driving my 981 Cayman's front ParkAssist started to act a bit strange. I
to started to "sense" when nothing was close to it and when i parked up near to a car in front of me, it showed a Error message on the screen. I have checked all of the sensors externally and they look fine.
This is error is only on the front, as the rear sensors are working as normal.
Any ideas what is wrong before i take the car to my local OPC ? oh yeah it was raining quite heavy when this happened.
