Another weekend car/investment
Discussion
Hi all
I know that these threads have been done to death previously but here goes.
I'm after another weekend fun to sit along side my Tuscan but with an eye on future appreciation/collectability.
Originally I wanted a R5 Turbo Raider or a Clio Williams as these were the cars I was hankering after when I was a youngster. Unmolested ones at sensible money are few and far between though.
Ives now switched to one of the following:
RS Focus Mk1
Mini GP (phase 1)
Clio Trophy
Impreza P1
I want something standard and ideally with less than 50k ish on the clock.
Which would you go for and is there anything else that you would consider. The P1 I appreciate is the most expensive of the lot and ideally I'm looking to spend around £15k. Would have to stretch this for a P1 with more miles.
Quite like the Clio V6 but I gather that the phase 2 is the better car and they're £30k plus.
Thanks
Andy

Why not invest in something else, and leave our hobby alone?? paintings, antiques, gold? rather then keep a car which isnt used and meaning real enthusiasts cannot enjoy it. Afford it. Or even see it.
Seriously? He's after a weekend car that may appreciate in value but it's ultimately going to be used. This guys not buying limited edition ferraris or porsches and storing them in a warehouse.Just wow.
The intention isn't for it to be a garage queen but something to be used at weekends. I have a Tuscan which I've had for 8 years that gets used at weekends but I have a hankering for something else too.
It's main purpose isn't as an investment but I'd like something that has collectability that could possibly appreciate in the future.

Have you considered the Megan's R26 R? Prices are all over the place but their prices have consistently remained high.
Yes I've considered a R26R but the decent ones seem to be hovering around the £20k mark now. I must admit, I've always liked the Mini GP and they should hopefully hold their value with them being a limited run. RS are always popular though.Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
