Hi smile

As it gets quite warm/hot in the engine bay I was wondering where one can buy air intakes like this one

So far I found
Anyone tried one of these? Maybe the seller of the 250£ is here in the forum?

That looks like a photo of Ultimacz's GTR. I haven't seen any posts on here from him for ages and wonder if he still has it....

I think point 1 that price is only for 1, so you need to double that. Points 2 and 3 might be the same thing. Was also debated here:

Hi Ben
The scoops on the red GTR are carbon fibre made by Reverie at a cost of £1200 I think + vat
I still make the fiberglass ones for £250 or vinyl carbon fibre wrapped for £300 + P+P
Have produced over 46 sets and sent all over the world so they do work to reduce the under clip heat and increase air flow through the oil and air con rad.
Let me know if you would like a set
Regards Russell
PS that's £250 a set not each !

Looking at the pictures on the Reverie website it was designed as a solution for feeding cool air for an SBC intake for a Can-Am. Reason why they are sold each as only need on one side. Slightly different design compared to others because of that. IMO the scoops are only beneficial if you have a flat floor / diffuser set up, going flat out on the track all the time and have no rear grill to expel the added air being scooped inside the engine bay.

im not sure.. dont think i can ever beat my GTR,. its the most photographed car in Cheshire. attracts the crowd what ever event im at and amazing how people ignore the F40 f50 and run to mine...very special car as factory built with a few different options to normal... doesnt rattle, knock etc. very well made

its the ultimate car imo, but ive enjoyed for 7 years and time for a change.

Thanks for your post, K Wright I wouldn't hold my breath expecting them anytime soon, as my post above says I have sold 46 sets all around the world and only one set out of those, was a problem, YOURS !
Postage to America 1st class tracked and sign for, usually takes about 2 weeks, you didn't contact me for about two MONTHS by which time I would have expected you to have received them and I would have thrown the post office receipt out, (now all receipts are kept until I have confirmation they have arrived, because of you) had you contacted me 2 or 3 weeks after postage I would have checked the tracking myself and done something to alleviate the situation, in my opinion its up to the recipient to check where their item is NOT the sender and to check after posting NOT two months down the line. This was in 2010 I believe ? I still haven't had any issues regarding the side scoops since yours.
I hope you are still enjoying your Ultima with or without the Scoops.
Regards
Russell

I know that feeling Dom but every time I decide to have a change I end up buying another one, it's been a 10 year love affair and after 5 Ultima's I still can't find a replacement I did find my Ultimate Ultima which was a beautiful silver Sports with the detachable rear wing as I love the rounded rear of the Sports, and thought I had found my car for life, BUT after contacting the factory to confirm the details about the car and having made arrangements to collect the car on the Saturday for the full asking price (£25k) in cash, the factory sneaked in and stole it from under my nose on the Wednesday, seeing it on the factory stand at Stoneleigh 2 weeks later spoke to Richard who assured me they would give me 1st refusal if they ever decided to sell, yet on the Tuesday after the show it was sold (£35k+not a bad earner ?) leaves a bad taste in your mouth, but still owned two Ultima's since that episode. Can't deny its an awesome car so my advice Dom is to think very carefully before you sell the car, I have had Lotus Elise Exige, Noble Ferrari P4 (the most beautiful shaped car in the world) Porsche 997 but nothing has floated my boat as much as the driving experience of the Ultima and that's just road use, you have exceeded that in yours so be careful what you choose, the only experience that I have found to be better than driving an Ultima is flying my helicopter which is only in good weather, that's why I sold my last Can-Am because i would only drive out on a decent day and flying has taken preference.
stay safe whatever you decide
Regards Russell

cheers Russ
i will miss it, but i have a classic and another track car to play with too. The car is megga and im very fortunate to have such a good example.. we will see.. some dont want a sbc as they think its hard to maintain but in reality its simple... oil change every 1000 miles costs £4 for oil filter and £20 for 2 gallons of oil..cheap as chips.

DOM I understand you.
Also happens to me in italy, especially because the gtr does not exist here, i think.

however, I am very sorry if you sell it and I hope you do not repent you of the change.
I have several other supercar but GTR is special

So sorry, didn't intend to upset anyone. Here is a link to other forum members that had problems getting scoops and with the quality of the ones that were delivered.

Glad to hear about the change in behavior!

Good try K Wright 3 posts including yours out of 46 sets sold still leaves a good % of satisfied owners. Original scoops arrived safe for Steve and he appears to be very satisfied with them, if you bothered to read the last post, I was in the US for a while that's why I didn't return his e mail and Spatz wanted to fit them so they could be removed ? and were damaged whilst removal during original fitting, they were from the original moulds, after that a new set of moulds were made with a return on the front lip.
Please keep posting Ken you obviously have plenty of time on your hands digging up forum posts from 2010 smile I don't, I'm too buisy producing side scoops between my job and flying thumbup

If you haven't already sourced a set and still have the Ultima I would ask you for $30 to cover postage of another set but I remember your previous posts over the years and to be honest whatever I do or provide, I have you down as the type of person who would never be satisfied, therefore I would be wasting my time and effort.
