Vibration Noise on sharp acceleration- VW Passat 2.0 TDi
Discussion
Hi all
I have been reading the forum for a while now but posting for the first time. There seem to be many experts here, I am hoping to get some advice on an issue with my car.
I have recently bought a VW Passat from Cargiant. I have had this terrible vibration noise since day 1 and Cargiant couldn't find anything on two occasions. I have also showed it to my local garage and they can't seem to find a reason behind it. The garage told me that they have checked for any loose fitting but couldn't find anything. The noise comes when the car reaches 2,000 RPMs on sharp acceleration. I hear it almost every time I need to overtake or joining the motorway. It will vibrate for a second or two and then go away till I drop RPMs and accelerate again. I have booked the car for Alan Day VW diagnostics but I am not sure if they will be able to locate this kind of issue. I hope someone here can help me before I waste my money with them. I have uploaded a video on YouTube with clips joined together. Look for the timeline at:

I own a 2014 TTS and have a very similar noise, but the rev range that I get from it is 2900- 3200 seems to be coming from rhs of car from the middle could be a loose baffle in exhaust, although could be a sucking / induction but definitely not normal. car is booked into audi for second time to try and resolve.
I am also interested in the outcome. I bought a 2015 (65) 2.0 tdi passat estate and it seems mine is doing the same. It sounds like a loose plastic fixing or maybe something with exhaust. I havent lost power etc.
I am ringing my local vw dealer in the morning to see if any light can be shed.

I have a 2006 Passat Tfsi, it had a weird vibration/feel when accelerating.
I was fearing DMF.
On a service it was mentioned that an inner CV joint had a touch of play. I eventually had it changed just because I didn't want it to fail.
The upside of it was the strange vibration had gone.
