So the Blairy Bunch have announced they are going to improved school dinners, just before the election, just in time to cash in on any publicity created by Jamie Oliver's TV Series....
£280,000,000 has been anounced as the amount of investment...
so why is £60,000,000 being set aside to setup an "Advisory trust"
£60,000,000 for god sake
£60,000,000???????????????
I guess they need to provide jobs for more intellectually challenged, socialist Blair Voters!

How much would that £60m raise the 37p per child per meal by?
18p
based on information on www.statistics.gov.uk
Whoa there now.
In the mockney ones show there was a headmistress complaining that he had gone over budget with his fresh food.
That basis of the complaint being that if he goes over budget then she either has to cut back on materials or staffing.
So this is being done at a government level, no doubt creating an army of civil servants to administer the lunacy. Surely if one is going to rob peter to pay paul then each individual school will have a better idea of how to do that with the minimum disruption?

Listening to the radio last night, that daft person in charge of education said that this was money already in the Education budget but not yet allocated.
The equivallent of change from the back of the sofa
But according to the Daily Mail
£45,000,000 of it is comming from the National Lottery fund???
Assuming that is correct Is the national lottery fund part of the education budget???

Utter madness.
It makes it even more madness when you realise that this is not new money but has to come from elsewhere in the education budget.
take it off the money they waste on ict in education theres plenty there

Jamie Olivers response to this has to be one of the best ive heard in a while -
basically he said
'yes, i recognise that this is a pre election move, but i dont care, i just want the kids to get proper food'.
Is he a truly sensibly grounded person?
No...
He's uses words like 'pukka' - how could you call him grounded...
That said, his project '15' and now this do seem to benifit people, so fair enough..
