I am interested in getting a modification to either keep my 2007 Gallardo's exhaust flaps open or make them switchable but without have the engine management lights come on.

Has anyone done this before? If so how was it done and who did they use to get it done?

Already tried disconnecting the pipe from behind the rear grill and the car sounds a whole lot better but it causes the engine lights (for both banks) to come on so I had to reconnect it.

You just need to plug the pipes and the lights will go off - on the F430 I used golf tees therefore assuming the same setup then something similar should work.

No, just the rubber tubes. Unless the Gallardo is set up differently (which I doubt) that's how all cars with that style of exhaust should work. My R8 works the same (plug the tubes).

Long as both sides are plugged then no reason you should get the light as it's just the same as plugging them to the metal 'pipe'.

No affiliation, but I have one of these in my F430:

using a remote key fob you can select 'normal' as in let the car do what it normally does, 'always open' and 'always closed'

it plugs into the car loom and interrupts the normal car signal so I would presume you wont get any warnings as the car will think the flaps are operating as per its instructions.

Are they on a separate fuse? If so, could you pull the fuse?

Apparently with it unplugged the later cars (inc mine) the ECU detects a change in back pressure. So it seems even if I were to fit the remote switchable device or plug the hoses the error would still display.

It's a real shame as there is a huge improvement in sound without the flaps.
