What were these called?

Can't for the life of me think what they are/were called - anyone over 40 should remember 'em.

Hand held dooberry for making labels ... came out in the 70s I think.

Looked ike a miniature version of the Star Ship Enterprise and the words came out on a thin strip of usually red or black with white letters ... and had a sticky backing you used to stick on things ...

The letters were formed by punching through the plastic strip ... you had some kind of flat circular wheel on the top you turned to change the letters and then you clenched the handle of the thing to push the letters through ... came in different sizes too as the size of the device altered the height of the plastic strip you could use.

Aaaaaaaaargh! there's also a typeface you can get which looks like the printed strip - ??

Gonna bug me now til someone can tell me.

You'll probably find they date back to the 30s or 40s.

Edited to add: A quick Google seems to indicate that the original labellling product they brought out dates from 1958.
