I'm thinking of getting back into a 911, probably a 964 and run it as a 2nd car on a Classic Policy: But I have no garage.

Anyone know of a Classic policy that allows "on street"?

Thanks in advance
Vic

I was on a Classic policy, parked on street in Central London with Carole Nash, however their classic policy underwriter, AXA, have decided that they no longer wish to provide that sort of policy. So last year at renewal time I did my usual shopping around and for what I wanted any of the Admiral group of companies (Admiral, Elephant.co.uk and Bell Direct) came out cheapest. I am on an 'ordinary' policy, so I wouldn't get too hung up about the 'classic' thing as they do limited mileage etc and will give suitable discount for security devices etc. Try them ,you may be surprised - also Tesco, Bickley Insurance (you'll have to do a search on that one), and A. Manning (ads in PP)have been competitive recently. Good luck.

I've got a classic car policy with Lancaster Insurance but my car is parked on the driveway as opposed to the street.

I was desperate to get a classic policy, given that my 993 is 10 years old and I've bunged a supercharger on it... unfortunately houses round here with garages are upwards of 500k which is a problem... (I'd spend 350k on the house and buy a 993 GT2 (if I could find one) )

I'm not in central London or any high-risk crime area, and am (just) 30, but all the 'classic' unsurers wanted a garage. Shame, since the quotes were nearly a grand less for having a garage. Pain in the assss.

(just spotted the 'unsurers' - I have a point of never making spelling mistakes, but this one, somehow, sounds better than the proper word )

Both my 928 are on kept on the street in London and are on a classic policy. I used Asset Trust www.asset-trust.co.uk They were very competitive, considering that I pranged my BMW 2-years ago and that I can take both Porsches to the Nurburgring
