Just a quick question to gather advice to see if it safe/people have used aqua wax over a paint sealant like GardX??

Many thanks!

Yes absolutely fine. If it's been over 6 months since GardX was applied you may find it's no longer present.

As/when you run out try some Gyeon WetCoat - makes AquaWax look distinctly average.

cheers

I haven't bought the aqua wax yet, should I just buy this product? Where can you get it from?

The GardX states it has a lifetime guarantee, how would you suggest treating the car/maintaining the paintwork on the car? They state no need to polish the car for its lifetime??

Thanks

Here's a link -

The only way to tell if the gard-x is present is if the paintwork displays some form of water behaviour, if water just sits on the car and doesn't bead or sheet off then it's disappeared.

Unfortunately dealer applied products like this are only as good as the prep work that goes before, this is where they fall down as quite often a dealer valeter will only get an hour, maybe two max to complete the entire car inside and out ready for client collection. It can often take an hour+ to wash and decontaminate a car properly if you left your car with a detailer.

On a side note the 'guarantee' is riddled with so many small print t&c's which you'll never meet that it's only worth is as a fire lighter.

cheers

Chris

I find aquawax to be a low effort way to keep your wax topped up. I use it as a drying aid and it seems to work pretty well.

Gardx is a poor product and especially at a dealer level, poorly applied. You'd be better off spending the money on a proper detail with a ceramic/silica coating.

in the short term, carpro reload, c2v3, gyeon wet coat, etc will all help.
