Brecon Beacon's in a Golf R and Caterham (and Chris Harris!)
Discussion
Brilliant couple of days. Some cracking roads up that way, black mountain road is amazing but sadly a 40 limit. A4067 was just mega. Deserted and so fast and flowing.
Yesterday we stumbled across Chris Harris and his camera man Neil. We stopped, had a chat and he advised us on some decent roads around Crickhowell and the surrounding area. He was more approachable than I thought he'd be. I assume that regularly happens to him and it must be frustrating when he and his team are, after all working. His was in a GTC4LUSSO.
Anyway, some photos of the trip!

Sounds like you had a great day! A friend and I are planning a day trip to the same place, so i'm glad you really enjoyed it. Are these the best rpoads you found then?
Very jealous of you meeting Mr Harris, big fan.

Meeting Chris and Neil was really cool, I have to say. A good insight into what goes into his vids.

Golf R and a Caterham, two more different cars you couldn't imagine!
As long as it's dry i bet they are actually quite evenly matched....... ;-)
You're right! Although the Caterham is only a 1600, so it needs to be absolutely thrashed! As long as it's dry i bet they are actually quite evenly matched....... ;-)
Golf has a bit more poke out of the slower corners.
I missed you fellas by about 5 minutes - was also up there on Thursday and had a good chat to Chris about the Ferrari and he mentioned he'd met you shortly before. Really nice guy and took the time to chat which was cool - Their C63 with the new exhaust sounded louder than the Ferrari. Did you see the yellow Dutch registered 135i parked above the hairpin on black mountain with the off side wheels missing?!
Agree about all those roads... also followed the Top Gear route out to Pembrokeshire on Friday - brilliant couple of days

We'll definitely be heading back there at some point I'd imagine, lots more roads to explore.Agree about all those roads... also followed the Top Gear route out to Pembrokeshire on Friday - brilliant couple of days
The 135i had an "off" then as far as you could make out?

Fanastic roads these, I'm fortunate to have the Brecon Beacons on my doorstep.
Regularly frequent them in my ITB'd 106 GTi. It is a shame about the 40 limit though.
Lucky chap! I bet that sounds good up there...Regularly frequent them in my ITB'd 106 GTi. It is a shame about the 40 limit though.
Yeah the 40 limit was a pain but it was completely empty up there mid-week (apart from the sheep) so we took our chances. Had to be done!

Yes, think the 135i must have done something bizarre - was propped up on a jack and a boulder under the front disc!
The B4520 from Brecon up to Builth Wells is also worth a visit if you haven't driven it
Sounds like they had a whoopsie! I think it'd be very easy to get it wrong up there to be fair. The B4520 from Brecon up to Builth Wells is also worth a visit if you haven't driven it
Thanks, another one to add to the list for the return.
