I used to go to Blackpool a lot as a kid

At the Pleasure Beach - there are several arcades. In one of them on the right hand side of the pleasure beach (just before the haunted swing ride) - there used to be a game that I used to play that was like a large walk in space simulator.

It was multiplayer for around 8-10 players I think - and each player sat behind their own gun (it was like a light gun but fixed on a pivot). All players would sit in an arc in front of a large curved screen.

The game would start with your ship launching into space. You couldn't pilot the ship, that was dealt with by the computer (in reality it was on a fixed trajectory). Each light gun represented a gun turret on your ship and each player got their own score based on what they shot down. The aim was to essentially defend the ship from attack and take down the enemy mother ship at the end. The graphics were a bit like the PS2 game colony wars - but better.

Anyone know what it was called?

Edit: Just to add - this was probably sometime around the early 1990s
