Have any phers owned a renault alpine gta
i did, and it was hell...the most unreliable car ever, looked great and very fast but spent its life on various lowloaders....

has anyone ever got one to run reliably and if so how.....?

I remember Clarkson rejecting the idea that the motoring press had much influence on car sales, becoz he had always raved about the GTA, but Renault had only sold 5 or 6 of them in the UK.

I've always wanted one. This year I spotted an A610 in one of the camp sites at le mans. I got talking to the owner, who said

very quick, but very unreliable. The main problme seemed to be the heat. The car is almost mid engined, and the computer control unit (situated between the rear seats) gets too hot- so he undid the cover, and had the electrics hanging out in the cockpit.

I still like 'em though, in the same way as I like the Wedge Lagonda V8...

Funnily enough, I saw a couple in Basingstoke weekend before last. One was parked up, so I had a good opportunity for a peek inside.
